Watch Paul Genoa speaks about the future of nuclear power in reducing carbon emission. Part 2 of 2 video clip

The electric car has been touted as the clean energy solution to our addiction to oil. But some believe that the current electric grid will not be enough to support a substantial shift towards electric cars. We will need new power generating stations they argue to meet the needs of the transportation sector. More coal fired plants means more heat trapping carbon dioxide and thus more global warming unless an untested technique, carbon sequestration, can be perfected. Wind and solar are clean but its not clear these technologies can be scaled up in time. This leaves nuclear power. A choice many environmentalists would have decried in the past. Paul Genoa, a spokesperson for the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) lays out the case for new nuclear power plants.
